Project Description

 This is a theatrical experimentation in which I wanted to design the set and costumes for a small production. The set design taps into the ideas in the play (e.g., the trolls overlooking the turn of events and the roses from the garden). For the costume designs, I wanted to look at a mix of historical and contemporary fashion. To create a modern outfit, I looked at the John Galliano Ready-to-Wear Fall 2009 Show. The sheer looks inspired my design for the Snow Queen, and for the characters of Gerda and Kai, I added chains, brooches, and structured silhouettes. 

These designs are inspired by the artist Darrell Warner. I wanted to portray a level of realism to bring the designs to life while keeping the style of the project.
